ABOUT
Nata Chebarkova (b. 1991) is an expressive abstract artist based in Limassol, Cyprus.
She graduated from Ulyanovsk State University with degrees in Industrial Design and Academic Art.
Chebarkova’s artistic practice is centered on themes of inner freedom, self-discovery, and spiritual transformation. Working primarily through abstract painting, she also engages with performance and installation, exploring the boundaries of human perception, identity, and the relationship between the individual and the divine.
She is a member of the Association of Mediterranean Artists (AMA Cyprus) and the Cyprus Chamber of Fine Arts (E.KA.TE), founder of the ARRT creative community, and works at the contemporary art gallery XeniArtSpace in Cyprus.
Her exhibition projects include “Inner Space” at Entire VC (Limassol, 2023), “Unravelling the Layers” at The Seed Gallery (Limassol, 2023), and “The Emotions of Spring” at Chemisov Art.G (Paphos, 2025). In 2021, Chebarkova received the Talent Prize in the Abstraction category from Art Show International Gallery (Los Angeles, USA).
In August 2026, Chebarkova participated in the Zaratan AIR residency programme in Lisbon, Portugal, where she continued exploring themes of inner freedom, light, and spiritual transformation through abstract painting and interdisciplinary practices.
Through abstract painting, installation, and collaborative projects, I explore the human search for freedom, meaning, and connection. My work is rooted in the belief that beneath fear, loneliness, and social expectations, there is an inner source of strength that remains unchanged.
I use abstraction because it leaves space for personal experience. Rather than illustrating a specific story, I create environments where viewers can encounter their own emotions, memories, and questions. Layers of colour, gesture, texture, light, and sometimes natural materials become tools for exploring what cannot easily be expressed through words.
Many of my projects emerge from observing moments of transition—moving between countries, adapting to unfamiliar places, experiencing loss, change, and renewal. These experiences have led me to reflect on what remains constant when external circumstances shift. Again and again, I return to the idea of an inner light: a presence that connects us to ourselves, to one another, and to something greater than ourselves.
I do not see art as an object that provides answers. Instead, I see it as a space for reflection and recognition. Through my work, I hope to create moments of openness, reminding viewers that freedom, hope, love, and spiritual strength are not distant ideals but qualities already present within them.
My work is an invitation to reconnect with the light, freedom, and divine presence that already exist within us.
